I'd bought Lego Extreme Cruiser LT8081 2011 just for fun. Building was fun, displaying was cool but it was kind of incomplete. Because it is suitable for Lego Power Functions integration but the product was not officially.
Adding motors and an RC to this model is natural continuation of building this model. However one cannot easiliy buy Lego Power Functions, it is almost always out of stock. So I had to order non-Lego parts for this upgrade. (See the order summary pages below. TL means Turkish Lira.)

The challenge in this project is mounting the two motors. (You can easily put the battery box in the trunk and mount the RC receiver on top of the car.)
I mounted the servo motor directly to the steering shaft (just between the two seats, slightly back). Similarly, I mounted the driving motor directly to the shaft connected to the torque distributor at the rear wheels.

I tried my best to keep all the original components forming the car and achieved that. However there are two forbidden modifications that Lego fans never appreciate:
First, I 3d-printed three parts to mount the driving motor (to avoid seeking and buying new additional lego parts).
Second I mounted the driving motor base plate to the car with two screws.

I'm happy the way it turned out !
